Issues were last reported in 15.3.0.1.
Issues are next reported in 15.6.0.3.

1. Hole counts are mostly absent.

  • I see some MDT holes in 15.3.0.2. These need validation to see if they are useful.
  • Half the values are negative.
  • Absent in 15.3.1.6 but said to be available in 15.4.0 and 15.5.0.
  • Bug report: 56342

    2. Muid combined fit chi-square does not include the inner track. Staco includes inner, outer and match.
  • It appears this was actually fixed in 14.1, i.e. Muid started including the inner detector hits in the combined fit in that release. See the history plot. Only in Muon selection 5.6.0 is the SelectedMuon calculation updated accordingly.
  • Users should add Muid inner and combined chi-squares (and DOF's) to get comparable values only for data in releases 12 ansd 13.

    3. CaloLR shows a 7% efficiency drop in release 15.3.0.1 T1. The fake rate increases slightly.
  • Bug report: 53177
  • This is not fixed in 15.3.1.6.
  • This is fixed in 15.6.0.3 but no one knows why.

    4. Muonboy find almost no tracks for |eta|<1.0 in 15.3.0.2.
  • Bug report: 54042
  • Fixed in 15.3.1.1.

    5. Since 15.1.0.5, Moore has been allowing very low quality tracks near |eta| of 1.2 and then using inner detector information to filter which of these is written to the AOD. This boosts the standalone and combined efficiencies in this region but implies care must be taken if the standalone tracks are to be used to asses inner detector efficiency.

    6. MuGirl now provides extended fits for most muons but the MDT hit multiplicity for these fits is well below that for Staco or Muid muons.
  • Bug report: 50675
  • A fix for the MDT went into 15.3.1.6 but there is only a small improvement.
  • A fix for the MDT went into 15.4.0.

    7. MuGirl now provides extended fits for most muons but the muons have no CSC hits.
  • Bug report: 54931.
  • New bug report: 54405.
  • This may be fixed in 15.5.0.
  • This is not fixed in 15.3.1.6.
  • This is fixed in 15.3.0.6 but the number of hits is less that the standalone especially for positive eta. See hits vs. eta.

    8. For MC08 and all samples since, 70% of the CSC clusters are spoiled.
  • Bug report: 54875.
  • A digitization fix went into 15.3.1.6: there 23% are spoiled. This is probably about right for all clusters in T1.

    9. In all releases to date, the CSC eta strip numbering is reversed w.r.t. the real detector.
  • Bug report: 56002.
  • Does not affect Monte Carlo because the reversal is done both in digitization and reconstruction.
  • This is not fixed in 15.3.1.6.

    10. A strip quality flag has been added to CSC reconstruction.
  • Bug report: 56073.
  • This is not included in 15.3.1.6.
  • Not an issue?

    11. A few muons have calorimeter energy loss in excess of 10 TeV.
  • Bug report: 56297.
  • This is seen in 15.3.0.1 and 15.3.1.6.
  • Not seen in 15.6.0.3. Resolved?

    12. Spectrometer and extrapolated tracks are missing in AOD muons which have the corresponding track particles. This means the list of hits must be taken from the combined track when it is present and are not available when it is not.
  • Bug report: 56466.
