Muon reconstruction in release 14.2.0.1
D. Adams
July 2008
Release 14.2.0.1 is for vlaidiation--14.2.10 will be used for production.
For other releases, see the complete list of results.
Issues in 14.2.0
1. Hole counts are absent for muid and staco combined.
Hole counting is not enabled in 14.0.X reconstruction.
2. Muid combined fit chi-square does not include the inner track. Staco
includes inner, outer and match.
Users should add Muid inner and combined chi-squares (and DOF's) to get
comparable values.
This is a feature, rather than a bug.
3. Calorimeter-tagged muons all have energy loss set to zero.
Feature?
Same in 14.0, 14.1
4. Staco efficiency drops by 2% with new geometry (ATLAS-GEO-01-0X-00).
Plots.
Bug report.
Problem is in the CSC.
Fixed in 14.2.10 with ATLAS-GEO-02-00-00.
5. Calorimeter-tagging algorithms have very low efficiency in
ATLAS-GEO-01-01-00 because of tight impact parameter and
impact parameter significance cuts.
6. Calorimeter isolation falls by about 10% relative to 14.1. This is
probably due to improvement of the isolation tool. (Samira, private
communication 16jul08).
7. The calorimeter-tagging algorithms have a big efficiency loss and
fake rate increase in the high luminosity sample.
8. MuGirl has a significant efficiency loss and
fake rate increase in the high luminosity sample.
9. The standalone and combined algorithms now use specific author
indices instead of highPT. The spectrometer-tagging algorithms
still use lowPt.
