Muon reconstruction in release 11.0.X

January 18, 2006

Releases 11.0.41, 11.0.42 and 11.0.5 were used for reconstruction in CSC11.

Issues

1. Muid hit counts are are missing or wrong.
Status in 12.0.X: Fixed.

2. There are incorrect track assignemtns in the Muid AOD at the level of a few percent.
Shared track filtering is disabled because of this.
Status in 12.0.X: Fixed.

3. Pool fit quality at high eta. Presumably due to CSC problems.
Status in 12.0.X: Fixed.

4. Need more info to discriminate against fakes for low-pT tracks in muid container.
Status in 12.0.X: New algorithm (MuGirl) in 12.0.4.

5. There are standalone fakes being removed with dR filter. Like to have track positions at spectrometer entrance to allow more precise filtering.

Or shared (muon) hit information?
Status in 12.0.X: Problem remains.

6. Like to have truth information at spectrometer entrance to identify tracks created in calorimeter leading to "fakes". in muid container.
Status in 12.0.X: Assumed available in 12.0.4.

7. Like to use calorimeter muon identification to fill eta holes in muon finding efficiency.
Status in 12.0.X: Not yet available.

Results
Efficiency and fakes are for pT>4 GeV/c, |eta|<2.8 and r0<2 cm.
Note: Cuts are very loose.
