Subject: Version 3 of muon digit container design From: David Adams Date: Thu, 11 Oct 2001 13:54:31 -0400 To: atlas reconstruction mailing list , Atlas muon reconstruction mailing list Thanks to all who sent comments on the last version of the muon digit container design. And thanks to Hong Ma a long discussion about their IdentifiableContainer (formerly DigitContainer). I have posted an updated design at the usual location: http://www.usatlas.bnl.gov/~dladams/mudigi I now understand that the model of Ma and Meesen is an implementation and should not be part of our interface. The new design of the muon digit container distinguishes between the granularity of the the interface and that of the implementation (based on the Ma and Meesen persistence mechanism). Different choices are made for the two: ROD for the implementation and module (chamber) for the interface. The interface is discussed as a new design issue. Once again I invite comments especially on the decision to hide the Ma and Meesen implementation and the choices made for the user interface. da -- David Adams desk: 631-344-6049 Brookhaven National Lab fax: 631-344-5078 PAS group, Building 510A email: dladams@bnl.gov Upton, NY 11973-5000 http://www.usatlas.bnl.gov/~dladams
