Thanks for thinking about this.  I do not see any disagreement between
what you say and what we have been thinking about.  I am forwarding this 
to Paolo as Paolo and I have been discussing this quite a bit -
not only the requirements but how to implement it in the context of
Athena and StoreGate.

My only little cosmetic complaint is the term "EDO".  I prefer not to
introduce yet another terminology... there is enough of them anyway.
As far as I see, a "data object" that is registered in the store is an
EDO.

We are at this moment writing a document that we will be releasing soon.
Most of what you say is already in our thinking - so I propose that
we include your comments and come up with a general document that we
will distribute.  Is that ok with you?

I am also trying to arrange a meeting with Paolo... trying to work out the
dates, so it would be good if you can join us. We can set aside some time
to discuss the history.
