RAC Policies

  • Regional Production
    • Requests for all regional production should go to the RAC mailing list.
      • Note added May 17th: It is no longer required to ask RAC for approval to submit regional production jobs since current utilization is well below assigned quota. Till further notice, please submit tasks directly through the Task Request Interface.
    • Regional production can proceed in 2 ways:
      • using the standard production system (PanDA) with 20% share of U.S. resources (preferred method, currently requiring no pre-approval from RAC).
      • using local (non-US ATLAS) CPU's - these requests must be pre-approved by RAC, in order to allocate space and create data transfer channels to BNL Tier 1. Output must be registered in the standard ATLAS DDM system
    • see the RAC mail from Kaushik for more details
  • PanDA production for CSC, where tasks are requested centrally through physics groups, minimum of 80% share of U.S. resources.

Requests for Regional Production

All requests approved by the RAC:

  • Diboson datasets with 12.0.6.1 simulation by Hong Ma
    • Request for 330k di-boson events to be simulated with release 12.0.6.1. Most of the di-boson samples were not submitted in ATLAS production in time for the 12.0.31.x production. And they will not likely to be simulated soon with 12.0.6.1 by the re-simulation production. This regional production will greatly help our di-boson CSC note study.
    • Tasks: 7636-7838, 7653-7661

  • Reco of 300k VBF higgs events from H. Ma
