NetworkMonitoring

Introduction

Deployment (procurement, installation, testing, integration) of network monitoring infrastructure throughout the US ATLAS Facility. Includes:

• Procurement of two network monitoring hosts
• Installation of US-LHC network monitoring OS and toolkits

This is an activity part of the larger inter-site throughput initiative.

Milestones

• Release from Internet2 images installed on all Tier 2 sites within 1 week of release. Release will be available September 25, 2009. Please have all sites running the release version by October 1, 2009. Once your site has installed perfSONAR, please update your status to a "green" led on the table.
• Configuration of perfSONAR. All sites should configure bandwidth tests to all other USATLAS Tier-2 sites and BNL as follows: a) select a 4 hour testing window and b) select 20 second bandwidth tests. Next configure OWAMP tests against all other Tier-2's and BNL. Milestone: please complete by October 7th.
• Evaluation of perfSONAR for USATLAS. All sites should be prepared to discuss perfSONAR status within USATLAS by the end of the third week in October.
