Topics for this week

  • Space shortage at Tier 2's - Armen
    • AGLT2, SWT2 and WT2 looks OK?
      • AGLT2 has more data on MCDISK than other sites? Why - follow up?
    • NET2 and MWT2 very tight.
      • Lots of hardware sitting on floor at MWT2. Total (including existing) will become 1 PB. Waiting for electrical work.
      • Keep email going with MWT2 to make sure 10 TB available at all times on MCDISK and DATADISK.
      • NET2 has 70 TB free. Sometimes data is copied from one partition to another - so temporarily there may be two copies. So 20 TB discrepancy last week.
      • Shawn - request from ADC that we should be notified of bursts more than 10 TB.
    • What can we do?
      • KD - cleaning some old MC (regional production last summer) from all sites.
      • Reduce replication share to 50% (from 100%).
  • Lost files - Wenseng, Charles
    • At BNL
      • Wensheng - 2 job ID's so far. Hiro - see from LFC log many thousands. Wensheng - will send more examples.
    • At MWT2
      • Disaster! Long standing problem with files left by dcache after deletion. Was handled by a hack in ccc to clean up this dcache debris. This automated tool went beserk (used a corrupted list of orphan files). Cleaned out ~70 TB of good files.
      • Cleaned up LFC. Resubscribing lost data. Hopefully also solved underlying dcache problem. Should be back up today.
  • Testing of new FTS 2.2 - Hiro
    • Can do checksum.
    • BNL has been tested - works well.
    • Upgrade today.
  • Hot issues
  • AOB
