Minutes of the US ATLAS Data Management meeting, June 23, 2009

Topics for this week

  • Cosmic replication - All
    • Michael reported problems at AGLT2, Hiro looking into it
  • Available storage - Armen, all
    • 300 TB on DATADISK, 40 TB on MCDISK, 250 TB on reserve
    • Reduced BNLPANDA write pool, gained 45 TB
    • USERDISK cleanup continuing, should gain 25 TB
    • By end of week may get back 30 TB from Thorr tests
    • In future, need to keep BNL MCDISK at ~100 TB free, to get new tasks, Armen will keep eye on this
    • Will need minimum 30 TB at SLAC & SWT2 for next two weeks (20 TB MCDISK, 10 TB DATADISK), and 40 TB at other 3 Tier 2's
  • Obsolete and ccrc dataset cleanup - Charles, Hiro
    • Charles - scripts are ready
    • MWT2 done, AGLT2 ?, SLACT2 done, NET2 will try next, SWT2 ?
    • Need new script to clean up from non-space token areas (except for user files), Wei will start email thread
    • Hiro, Armen, Wensheng, Charles will start work on deleting obsolete datasets at BNL this week, report in 2 weeks, first get an estimate of how much data can be cleaned up
  • Hot issues
    • Need to inform ADC ops to remove file from DQ2 catalog when original (all) replicas are lost, Hiro will do for BNL
    • Hiro will do user cleanup also at T2, similar to BNL plan, need to inform Tier 2 site responsible - Armen, Hiro will follow up
