USAtlasFacilityClients

Introduction

This task covers the provisioning of various ATLAS and OSG client tools for use in the US ATLAS Facility by site administrators and physicist-users. This includes:

• Providing a package of OSG client middleware components that can be used in conjunction with dq2-client tools released by DDM to successfully and efficiently access US ATLAS storage elements. See further WlcgClient.
• Testing the DQ2 clients provided by the ATLAS team at CERN. See further DQ2ClientsInOSG.
• Working with VDT on a worker node client component which includes LFC client utilities packaged by VDT for use with the standard OSG 1.0 worker-node client package. This provides Panda pilots the LFC client programs it needs to access LFC catalogs.
• Providing ATLAS WorkerNode. An additional worker node client with ATLAS specific software (not required by other OSG VOs and therefore not included in the worker node client. This includes software like the DQ2 clients and enduser tools. See further AtlasWorkerNode.

Milestones

This is for Phase 6 of the IntegrationProgram, covering Oct 1 - Dec 31, 2008.

• Comprehensive client (WLCG-Client+custom Python) for 64bit OSes: Oct 15
• Design and packaging of ATLAS-wn: Oct 20
• Periodic updates of admin and user documentation.
• Troubleshoot and assure the enforcement of a correct Panda configuration to use LFC and space tokens.
