Topics for this week

  • BNL space status - Armen, Hiro
    • 1 PB total available DATA+MC (some pools are shared now), but ~600TB dark data on MCDISK, only ~260 TB free
    • Action item - resolve situation with MCDISK, keep an eye on it filling up
    • Hiro - USERDISK cleanup coming soon, GROUP and SCRATCHDISK now shared
    • Hiro - talked to developers of deletion agent. Need to delete all space tokens, not one at a time. Also, asked for different rate for different tokens. Local deletion.
  • Tier 2 space crises - Armen, Charles
    • PandaDB problems resulted in doubling the rate of PD2P subscriptions. Last night problem corrected (temporary fix).
    • MWT2 97% full. Huge throughput - almost 10 Gb from BNL (3 times more than any other sites). Charles locally removed some tobedeleted files in emergency.
    • Deletion rate very slow after Chimera upgrade? Issue being actively followed by MWT2.
    • Armen will try to delete another 100 TB.
    • AGLT2 will keep eye and add more.
    • Lots of pending subscriptions in all other sites
  • Hot issues
  • AOB
    • Pandamover should register _dis datasets again - KD will follow up
    • Flat file for space reporting for Bestman sites - Patrick, Wei will follow up
    • Patrick - will try Bestman 2 at UTA_SWT2 cluster this week
    • Wei - will schedule switchover at SLAC in early January
    • Hiro - new SS will be deployed at BNL in January
