There was a throughput test from BNL to UC today. As seen from the attachments, UC has passed our milestone for 400MB/s for about 1 hour.

NOTE: BNL FTS was re-configured (moved to the different host) in BNL-UC channel to use gridftp2 to allow direct writing to selected write pools of UC while maintaining the traffic through UC gridftp doors for private IP write pools.

MWT2 Inter-site bandwidth test

MWT2 - IU -> UC achieved 1.2 GB/s. This was done with srmcp, not lcg-cp. I was not able to get lcg-cp to work in the needed passive or gridftp2 mode.

The actual command and flags used was:

This transfers a 1GB test file. It was done from 140 IU worker nodes, each with a 1Gb network interface. This kept the incoming 10Gb link at UC completely saturated for >3 hours. We had no failures during this test - dCache services remained stable.

Without passive-mode transfer, there was a bottleneck at the two gridftp doors, which became CPU-bound handling the inbound and outbound traffic to the private-net pools... under these conditions the limiting transfer rate was ~450MB/sec.
