The task of the Mother Board System is four-fold:

• It integrates the charge deposited in adjacent electrodes in azimuth.
  
• It transfers the charge via the mother boards to the cables that carry the signal through the feedthrough and to the front-end electronics for further processing.
  
• It receives and distributes calibration signals through a chain of resistive network to all read-out channels according to a preset pattern.
  
• It receives and distributes the High Voltage to the read out electrodes.

There are four distinct parts of the Mother Board System. They are:

Summing Boards
Mother Boards
High Voltage Boards
Alignment (G10) Boards

Together, the system services approximately 100,000 channels in the LAr barrel calorimeter.
