August-September 1998
Module-1 assembly and cabling at LAPP, Annecy. Photographs available

The task of the Mother Board System is four-fold:

There are four distinct parts of the Mother Board System. They are:

Together, the system services approximately 100,000 channels in the LAr barrel calorimeter.

Additional relevant information for the Mother Board System:

Radiation Hardness studies

Liquid Argon Purity studies

Established Quality Assurance Procedures

Lessons learnt during the cabling of Module -1 at Annecy.

Additional documentation relevant to the Mother Board System:

A cut-away view of one-half of the LAr barrel calorimeter showing the inter-connectivity.

Isometric view of the accordion showing the placement of the cold electronics.

Information on the Readout Electrodes.

Note on the Cabling of the EM Calorimeters (postscript version). This note also describes the channel mapping established in the mother boards, numbering scheme used, and the pulser pattern.

Additional information is also available in the Liquid Argon Technical Design Report.

The Mother Board system for the Barrel Calorimeter is being designed and produced at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in US. People who can be contacted for further questions regarding the mother board system are:
